You Are Now Entering... The Twilight Zone
What's New In Real Estate & Life In New Orleans
It’s election night in New Orleans. We’re beyond the final count — in another dimension — a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. We’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. Helena Moreno wins the mayoral race. We’ve just crossed over. Into the Twilight Zone.
At first, the crowd cheers like it’s any other victory. But then the strange things begin. The potholes vanish, as if swallowed by shadows. Traffic lights work at every intersection. Permits are approved in days. Garbage trucks come twice a week, and the streets stay clean (and lemony-fresh).
People wander the city in disbelief. Thousands of new residents are unloading moving boxes into their new homes. The Saints win a game. A building inspector answers his phone on the first ring. Insurance rates hit a 20 year low. The Mississippi river runs clear and blue.

Located in the heart of the Irish Channel, 2372 Constance is a former corner store with a spacious retail floor, walk-in cooler, and plenty of back-of-house space. What really sets it apart is its legal non-conforming retail use, which allows packaged beer sales—plus the potential to pursue a full packaged alcohol license. Renovated in 2020, it’s a turnkey spot for anyone looking to tap into the neighborhood’s energy.

This Magazine Street spot has a bright storefront and—most surprisingly—a huge amount of storage tucked away in the back, making it a rare find for retail or service businesses. The layout balances customer-facing charm with behind-the-scenes functionality. We recently shared a full tour on the b+b Instagram if you want a closer look.
