What We're Eating & Drinking

WE'RE EATING

Asher African Market's Jollof Rice

WE'RE DRINKING

Acamaya's Chico Colada

This week, we’re digging into jollof rice—a rich, spicy West African classic made with tomatoes, peppers, and plenty of flavor. The recipe comes from our friends at the African Market, so you know it’s the real deal.

Get the recipe here.

Tropical, spiced, and just a little wild, this cocktail layers coconut milk and cinnamon with bright lime, ripe banana, and a bold hit of overproof rum. The mango adds a fragrant lift, making it taste like a Caribbean daydream—complex, creamy, and completely unexpected.

Office Update

While the Tulane Tennis Center undergoes construction, the Crescent City Farmers Market has made a big move to The Batture for their Tuesday markets. As tenants of The Rigs workspace, we at ben + burka couldn’t be more excited. Fresh strawberries are just steps from our desks, local produce is brightening our breakrooms, and a whole new rhythm has come to our Tuesdays. We’re thrilled to have this beloved community staple in our backyard.

If you have not come out to see our new office, give us a shout. We'd love to give you a tour!
