Gobble, Gobble Y'all

What's New In Real Estate & Life In New Orleans

Halloween’s behind us. The candy’s gone, the costumes are questionable memories at best, and New Orleans has slipped into that dangerously easy stretch of the year where one holiday folds right into the next until, suddenly, it’s Mardi Gras and we’re all covered in glitter again.

With Thanksgiving on the horizon and families gathering around their tables, we wanted to share what we’re thankful for: the weather finally cooling off; those spectacular fall sunsets we get to watch from the office (thanks, time change and thanks, Batture); and that we’re not the ones digging through City Hall’s couch cushions looking for $160 million.

But more than anything, we’re thankful for this community. So here’s to y’all, for showing up, for caring, and for believing in what we’re building down here at ben + burka. Pass the champagne, the coffee, or whatever’s closest. We’re grateful to have you at the table.

Now, feast your eyes on the juicy listings below. And unlike an unattended trick-or-treat candy bowl, feel free to take more than one.

Cure's Fun Fact

Rich and comforting, Barbaton Potatoes are buttery, smoky, and herb-scented—with tender baby potatoes soaking up bacon, garlic, and thyme in a silky, savory broth. Think of it as the perfect cross between a stew and the best mashed potatoes you’ve ever had. Thanks to Chef Aleks at the Four Seasons for the recipe.

A bright, tropical flirt of a cocktail — silky from egg white, kissed with lime and guanabana, and finished with a whisper of aged rum. It’s citrusy, floral, and just a little spicy — like a vacation with good gossip. Photo by the talented Denna Ameen.

Office Update

We hope everyone had a Halloween! The b+b crew celebrated in true New Orleans style — hopping the streetcar downtown for an afternoon of tricks, treats, and toasts. Stops included the Museum of Illusions, Dian Xi, and the iconic Pat O's.
