Hit Me With Your Best Sack
What's New In Real Estate & Life In New Orleans
Crawfish season is officially here, which means your friend with a rig is workshopping some new ideas for the inaugural boil.
We support innovation. We do. Artichokes? Respectable. Ravioli? Risky, but we’ll allow it. Turkey neck? If you ask us, that's just performative.
And then there’s the additions that no one asked for:
- A five-year-old who peels faster than you and won’t let you forget it.
- The drunk uncle suggestively sucking heads in the corner.
- That nerd wearing PPE.
- Your finger swelling up so aggressively from the sodium that you’re googling “how to cut off wedding ring safely.”
- Shirtless Shia LaBeouf shadowboxing in the corner. Unclear how he got here, but looks like he ain't going anywhere soon.
What are we doing here, people? Zatarain’s. A rig. A sack. That’s all ya' need. There’s seasoning with purpose, and then there’s chaos.
Same goes for real estate.
We prefer intentional ingredients: well-located, well-priced, ready to get picked clean.

Mary Nell is bringing a little Louisville luck to New Orleans with her take on classic Benedictine dip. A fridge staple back home and perfectly festive for St. Patty’s, this creamy, dill-kissed dip is best piled high on soft white bread or scooped up with crackers and a cold drink in hand. Find the recipe here. |
Bouligny Tavern’s Viva Zapata is a bright, citrus-forward cocktail with a smoky, spicy backbone that sneaks up in the best way. Bold yet balanced, it layers fresh lime and subtle heat for a refreshing sip that feels equal parts Uptown cool and late-night mischief. Get the recipe here. |
Office Update
Wedding bells are ringing for ben + burka’s own Nina Sloss!
This weekend, Nina will be marrying her ex-boyfriend, Ryan McGuire — who, after an impressive tenure in the role, has officially been promoted to fiancé and soon-to-be husband.
We’re thrilled for Nina as she celebrates her first marriage! All jokes aside, we couldn’t be happier for these two. Nina brings brilliance, style, and ruthless attention to detail to everything she touches — we assume this event will be no different.
Cheers to love, lifetime contracts, and very strong renewal options.
